FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the city

When can I visit the Migration Department without an appointment?+

On Mondays and Wednesdays — all day: 8:00–11:30 and 12:00–17:00.

However, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the schedule is divided: until 11:30 they accept everyone, and from 12:00 to 14:00 — only clients with appointments. This is the detail why people arrive at noon and leave empty-handed.

Address — Ulrichovo náměstí 810/4. You can book an appointment through your account on ipc.gov.cz or by phone at 974 801 801.

How much does housing cost in Hradec Králové?+

A 60 m² apartment in July 2026 — around 17,479 Kč per month. This is more expensive than in Plzeň (17,237 Kč), Olomouc (16,891 Kč), or České Budějovice (15,395 Kč), but cheaper than Brno (21,427 Kč) and significantly cheaper than Prague.

The regional salary is 44,673 Kč, which is lower than the national average (50,282 Kč). Therefore, the 'rent to earnings' ratio here is worse than, for example, in Ostrava or Ústí.

As always in Czechia, rent includes a separate advance payment for services.

Where to go with an urgent problem?+

To the Faculty Hospital at Sokolské 581 — it is the largest medical facility in the region and a university clinic.

We are intentionally not publishing emergency service hours: since January 1, 2026, the organization of emergency care in Czechia has been transferred from the regions to insurance companies, and published schedules across the country are currently unstable. Call first, then travel.

In case of life threat — 155 or 112.

Before you set off

Unusual schedule for the Migration Department. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it operates in two different modes: 8:00–11:30 they accept everyone, and 12:00–14:00 — only those with appointments. Arriving at noon without an appointment means leaving empty-handed.
🔴 You must appear for a visa sticker by September 30, 2026 for extended temporary protection (extended until 03/31/2027). Details are in the legalization hub.

Official pay statistics at city level barely exist in Czechia, so we show the region and say which one. Office addresses and prices in the guide always carry a source and a date of checking — without those they do not appear here at all.
