One of Central Europe's most prestigious and atmospheric theater festivals, "Letní shakespearovské slavnosti 2026" (Summer Shakespearean Festival 2026), will take place in Prague from June 24 to September 5. The main stage in the capital for the project will traditionally be the main historical building of Prague Castle. The live scenery of the ancient fortress, the evening sky, and great classics will create a unique synergistic effect for the audience.
The program for the upcoming season, which lasts until early September, promises to be very diverse: from sparkling comedies to piercing, deep dramas written by William Shakespeare.
The main premiere this summer will be the play "The Comedy of Errors" (Komedie omylů), directed by the famous director Vojtěch Štěpánek.
To bring this repertoire hit to life, the organizers have gathered a constellation of Czech theater and cinema stars. The following will appear on stage:

In addition to the main premiere, throughout the summer, audiences will see beloved and time-tested Shakespearean productions: "As You Like It," "Othello," "Love's Labour's Lost," "The Winter's Tale," and the dark masterpiece "Macbeth."
