What does “CCE” mean in Czechia?

CCE (Certifikovaná zkouška z češtiny pro cizince) is a certified Czech language exam for foreigners. Unlike state exams, it is not needed for status, but for university or work.

  • A1 — 3 200 Kč · A2 — 3 500 Kč · B1 — 4 000 Kč · B2 — 4 600 Kč · C1 — 4 900 Kč.

💡 When CCE is too expensive

  • For permanent residence: the state exam A2 costs 3 200 Kč compared to CCE-A2 for 3 500 Kč.
  • For citizenship: ÚJOP B1 costs 3 700 Kč compared to CCE-B1 for 4 000 Kč.

CCE is taken when a certificate is specifically needed for a university or employer.

The oral part has changed: levels B1 and higher are taken individually, via video conference in MS Teams.

Important. 💡 If you need the exam for permanent residence or citizenship — CCE is not the cheapest way: the state exam A2 (3,200 CZK) and ÚJOP B1 (3,700 CZK) are cheaper.
