In the cozy park behind the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua on Strossmayer Square (Strossmayerovo náměstí), the traditional seasonal project "Letní scéna na Strossu" will take place. Every Wednesday at 4:00 PM, stories full of humor, adventure, and gentle life wisdom will come alive here.
This year, the organizers have expanded the format: in addition to performances, a children's exchange market will open on the site. Children can bring a read book or a toy they are tired of and exchange it for a new one. The local tea room "U Kostela" is responsible for cool drinks and refreshments on site.
All shows are free and suitable for young viewers of all ages.

July 1 — "About the Unhappy Builder" (O nešťastném staviteli) | 45 min, 4+
An interactive author's fairy tale by the famous slam poet Jakub Folvarčný, based on a Prague legend about the repair of Charles Bridge after a flood. The story is about a vain master builder who decided to make a deal with the devil and outsmart him.
July 8 — "Janek the Boaster" (Janek Chlubil) | 45 min, 3+
A new show from the famous Czech puppet theater "Buchty a loutky". A French fairy tale about a brave boy who dreams of becoming a general, despite mockery. On his way to his goal, he will face robbers, dance with devils, and rescue a princess.
July 15 — "R.I.P." (Repka) | 25 min, 3+
Attention: two shows – at 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. A modern, visual, and completely wordless (language-barrier-free) thriller-comedy based on the fairy tale "The Giant Turnip" by students from DAMU (the group 666 entertainment). The performance is the winner of the Dream Factory 2023 award. The story is about how the roots of a giant turnip grew to the center of the Earth and woke up what was hiding in the darkness.
July 22 — "Going in Circles" (Dokola) | 45 min, 5+
An intimate interactive performance by the theater group Fras. Three rickshaws will appear on the edge of the park, each transforming into a mini-stage with a simple movement. One has a wheel of fortune, another is a photo lab creating a puppet with a viewer's face, and in the third, you need to pedal to ride through a fairy-tale forest.
July 29 — "About Princess Jenovéfa" (O princezně Jenovéfě) | 45 min, 6+
An original "dramatic culinary" show from Studio Damúza. A real puppet kitchen where fruits, vegetables, and a lot of humor are used instead of classic decorations. A vitamin mix of tears, laughter, and vitamins.
August 5 — "Rapunzel" (Locika) | 45 min, 3+
A one-act play based on the Brothers Grimm by Divadlo b. The classic story of a golden-haired girl, a fearless prince, a desert, love, and... unexpectedly, the amazing taste of lettuce.
August 12 — "The Messy Hamster" & "How Elephants Got Their Trunks" | 20 + 20 min, 2+ / 3+
Two mini-performances by Divadlo jednoho Edy. The first story is a cautionary tale about a hamster named Bóša who boasted and forgot to store food for the winter. The second is a classic fable about a very curious baby elephant from a time when elephants only had small noses.
August 19 — "Cinderella" (Popelka) | 50 min, 5+
A fresh musical puppet interpretation of the classic by the Czech-Slovenian independent theater Miza in scena. Winner of the "Golden Giraffe" jury prize at the international festival in Maribor (2025). A story about inner strength, where Cinderella does not wait for a prince but takes her fate into her own hands.
August 26 — "Flies" (Mouchy) | 30 min, 5+
The final production of the season by Kolektiv TMEL. A touching philosophical fairy tale that explores the theme of everyday quarrels. Why do children, adults, and animals argue? How to find the strength to say "sorry," overcome resentment, and truly forgive? A production about loneliness and reconciliation.
