Performance "Heart of a Dog"

Mykhailo Bulgakov's story "Heart of a Dog" celebrates its 100th anniversary. The text, once banned in the USSR and spread only through samizdat (self-published works), is now being radically rethought. Director Kostiantyn Kamenskyi presents an international theater project that explores why the tragic story of the early 20th century has repeated itself with frightening accuracy at a new turn of history.

Today, Bulgakov's text gains a new, painful meaning. A new generation of intellectuals – modern "Professor Preobrazhenskys" – have again lost their country, giving the right to control it to the new Sharikovs and Shvonders. That is why the story about Moscow in the 1920s is going on a journey.

The organizers emphasize: this is a "play of questions without answers." An attempt to understand the historical and social reasons for what is happening is made not through classic methods, but with the help of innovative video design, modern media technologies, and relevant visual solutions for the stage.

The play is created by a unique international team, combining British direction, French scenography, and the strongest actors.
