The new Metropolitan Plan foresees the construction of 350,000 new apartments in neglected industrial areas. In the next 15–20 years, large-scale development will cover Bubny, where the Vltava Philharmonic will be the center of attraction, the Žižkov freight station, and the Bohdalec-Slatiny area.

The projects promise to include parks (for example, Maniny Park), social infrastructure, and cultural landmarks in each new district.
