On April 19, residents near Jičín witnessed the first officially documented tornado of the year. Meteorologists confirmed that between 5:20 PM and 5:30 PM, conditions were perfect for a vortex to form: high humidity and specific air currents in the lower atmosphere. It was a weak, local tornado, not comparable to the destructive storm of 2021. Such short-lived whirlwinds are a normal part of spring weather in Czechia and usually do not cause serious damage.
