At noon on April 22, hundreds of university and gymnasium students in Prague, Brno, Olomouc, and other cities across the country joined a protest against a new media bill.
The initiative proposes that Czech Television and Czech Radio be funded directly from the state budget. As a sign of support for media independence, students organized symbolic strikes, discussions, and performances, calling for the prevention of a Slovak scenario and the preservation of freedom of speech in the country.
