What does “Zaručený plat” mean in Czechia?

Guaranteed salary — a guaranteed minimum wage based on the difficulty of the work, which remains only for the state and public sector (§ 109 paragraph 3 of the Labor Code).

Main point: no more guarantees in the private sector

The 2024 amendment, effective from 01.01.2025, canceled the guaranteed wage for private employers. The eight groups of jobs no longer exist. The only minimum in the private sector is the minimum wage of 22,400 CZK, regardless of how qualified the work you do is.

In the public sector — four groups instead of eight

First group (salary classes 1–2), coefficient 1.0 — 22,400 CZK;
Second group (classes 3–5), coefficient 1.2 — 26,880 CZK;
Third group (classes 6–9), coefficient 1.4 — 31,360 CZK;
Fourth group (classes 10–16), coefficient 1.6 — 35,840 CZK.

Important. If you were promised a guaranteed salary for a group of works in a private company — this structure no longer exists in the law from 01.01.2025. You have to negotiate the amount above the minimum wage yourself and record it in the contract.
