Humanitární ubytování (humanitarian accommodation) is free housing provided by the state after receiving dočasné ochrany (temporary protection). The period is 90 days.
🔴 Main trap of the topic
From 01.09.2024, the period is shortened from 150 to 90 days, and — this is the most important — the exception for vulnerable persons is CANCELLED.
After 90 days, no one lives for free: not children, not pregnant women, not persons 65+, not people with disabilities. You must either leave or pay. Many people still believe that vulnerable people can stay. They cannot.
What's next
The housing component of humanitární dávky (humanitarian benefits):
- 6,000 CZK/month — for vulnerable persons;
- 4,000 CZK/month — for everyone else.
Vulnerable persons are children under 18, pregnant women, persons 65+, people with disabilities (one condition is enough). But this is a category for the payment amount, not for extending free accommodation.
