What does “Rodičovský příspěvek” mean in Czechia?

Parental allowance — a total parental benefit that a family can receive until the child is 3 years old or until the total amount is used up. You choose the monthly amount: if you take more, it will end sooner.

Amounts for 2026

350,000 CZK — for children born from 01.01.2024
525,000 CZK — for twins born by 31.12.2025
700,000 CZK — for twins or more born from 01.01.2026

Rate and Period

paid until the child is 3 years old or until the amount is used up
maximum monthly rate is 15,000 CZK (one child) / 30,000 CZK (multiple births) for parents without DVZ or with low DVZ

What is being prepared (not yet a law)

The Chamber of Deputies approved an increase to 400,000 CZK (twins — 800,000 CZK) on 08.07.2026, but this still needs to be approved by the Senate and the president. It will apply only to children born from 01.01.2027. Annual valorization was rejected.

Important. 🔴 Today, 350,000 CZK is in effect. The number 400,000 CZK is being shared in chats as "already increased" — this is not true: the law has not been passed yet, and even after it is passed, it will affect children born from 2027.
