What does “OAMP” mean in Czechia?

OAMP (Odbor azylové a migrační politiky) — the Department for Asylum and Migration Policy of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, which handles cases of foreigners' stay.

First — the correct address

frs.gov.cz is no longer a portal: from 01.07.2023 it redirects with a 301 redirect to ipc.gov.cz. Old links from forums and chats lead nowhere, and some instructions on the internet are still written for the dead domain.

You cannot come without an appointment

Customer center — +420 974 801 801, open Mon–Thu 8:00–16:00, Fri 8:00–14:00. You should know the rules for making an appointment in advance:

you can make an appointment from the age of 15;
a verified account (via NIA or BankID) allows up to 3 active appointments for 60 days, an unverified account allows only one;
you can cancel an appointment no later than 48 hours before;
more than 10 cancellations in 90 days — a block for 90 days;
3 no-shows in 180 days — a block for 180 days.

OAMP is not the cizinecká policie

The residence card itself is issued by the cizinecká policie (foreign police), not OAMP, and their appointment portals are different: rezervace.policie.gov.cz for the police, ipc.gov.cz for OAMP.

Important. The OAMP address in the resident register is not a mailing address, but a trap: if you are registered at the address of an administrative body for 90 days, your temporary protection ends by law, without a decision and without notice.
