What does “Přeregistrace” mean in Czechia?

Re-registration — changing to another health insurance company. There are only two periods each year, and it's easy to miss them.

When You Can Change

once every 12 months
only from January 1 or from July 1

Application Deadline — 3 Months Before

by March 31 → change from July 1
by September 30 → change from January 1

After Changing

Within 8 days: inform your employer and return your old card.

Is It Worth Changing?

The range of covered services is the same in all 7 insurance companies — according to § 40 of Act No. 48/1997 Coll., each is required to provide you with access to services, including finding a doctor.

Important. The application is submitted not "before the change," but 3 months before it: if you apply on April 1, you cannot switch starting July 1; you will have to wait until January 1. And do not forget about 8 days to notify your employer and return the old card.
