What does “Nostrifikační zkouška” mean in Czechia?

Nostrifikační zkouška (nostrification exam) is an exam within the nostrification process. The office checks your knowledge in subjects that it believes are missing from your foreign education.

Where it Happens

For ZŠ / SŠ / VOŠ (primary school / secondary school / higher vocational school), the process is handled by the Krajský úřad (regional office): fee 3,000 CZK, deadline 30 days (+30).
For university diplomas, it is a public university with a similar program; an appeal within 15 days goes to MŠMT (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports).

When There Will Be No Exam at All

Diplomas from the USSR period from 06.06.1972 – 27.02.2000 are recognized automatically. Nostrification is not needed for them, and therefore, neither is an exam.
