Nostrifikační zkouška (nostrification exam) is an exam within the nostrification process. The office checks your knowledge in subjects that it believes are missing from your foreign education.
Main Good News
🔑 Foreigners do not take a nostrification exam in Czech language and literature. This removes the most frightening part for most people when submitting documents.
Where it Happens
- For ZŠ / SŠ / VOŠ (primary school / secondary school / higher vocational school), the process is handled by the Krajský úřad (regional office): fee 3,000 CZK, deadline 30 days (+30).
- For university diplomas, it is a public university with a similar program; an appeal within 15 days goes to MŠMT (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports).
When There Will Be No Exam at All
Diplomas from the USSR period from 06.06.1972 – 27.02.2000 are recognized automatically. Nostrification is not needed for them, and therefore, neither is an exam.
