What does “Hexavakcína” mean in Czechia?

Hexavakcína — mandatory child vaccination "6 in 1", the basis of the Czech vaccination schedule (vyhláška 299/2010 Sb.).

What it protects against

  • diphtheria
  • tetanus
  • pertussis
  • Hib
  • polio
  • hepatitis B

2+1 Schedule

  • 1st dose — from the 9th week
  • 2nd dose — 2 months later
  • booster — at 11–13 months

For premature babies — a 3+1 schedule.

Other mandatory vaccinations

Together with MMR (measles, rubella, mumps), the hexavakcína covers the same 9 mandatory diseases. BCG is only for risk groups.

Important. The 2+1 scheme is for full-term babies; premature babies get 3+1. Your child's doctor will calculate the exact dates for your child, especially if some vaccinations were done in Ukraine.
