Nemocenská — a payment from nemocenské pojištění (sickness insurance) during temporary incapacity for work, confirmed by a neschopenka (doctor's note).
Who is insured
- Employee — automatically: 0.6% of sickness insurance is included in their 7.1% social security contributions.
- OSVČ (Czech self-employed status) — only voluntarily, minimum 243 Kč/month.
- DPP (agreement on work performance) — if the threshold of 12 000 Kč/month is exceeded with one employer.
Family members of the same insurance
From sickness insurance also come PPM (mateřská) (maternity allowance), otcovská (paternity allowance), ošetřovné (nursing allowance), and dlouhodobé ošetřovné (long-term nursing allowance).
Nemocenská and social benefits
In the rozhodný příjem pro porodné (decisive income for child benefit), nemocenská is counted — along with net income, unemployment benefits, ošetřovné, mateřská, and pensions.
How much exactly
The specific amount is calculated from the reduced DVZ (daily assessment base) — check the current calculation on the ČSSZ (Czech Social Security Administration).
