Autorizovaná konverze

official paper to electronic conversion

What does “Autorizovaná konverze” mean in Czechia?

Authorized conversion — official change of a document from paper to electronic form, or the other way around. The document keeps the legal power of the original. This is not scanning or a normal copy: the result of the conversion has the same value as the original document.

Price

30 CZK per page at CzechPOINT. Calculate ahead: a document with many pages can cost a noticeable amount. So, before conversion, check if all pages are really needed.

Why you need this

Conversion is a bridge between the paper and electronic world. You need it more when you have a datová schránka (data box). For example: from January 1, 2026, you can only send reports to the health insurance company electronically if you have a data box. In this situation, paper documents must be changed into electronic form so that the office accepts them.

Important. A normal scan and an authorized conversion are not the same. A scan does not have the legal power of the original, but a conversion does. If an office asks for a conversion, sending a photograph of the document will not work.
