Modrá zóna (Blue zone) is a paid parking zone in Prague, mainly for residents and permit holders. For visitors, it is the most inconvenient of the three.
Three Zones in Prague
- Modrá (Blue) — for residents and permit holders; for visitors, **maximum 3 hours**, rate **40–80 CZK/hour**.
- Fialová (Purple) — for both residents and visitors; 20–60 CZK/hour.
- Oranžová (Orange) — for visitors only, long-term permits are not valid; rate is shown on the sign.
When Parking is Free
Outside the parking zone's operating hours, parking is **free** — check the sign.
Cost of a Mistake
- On-the-spot fine — **500–1,500 CZK**, in administrative proceedings — **2,000–4,000 CZK**. **No penalty points are issued.**
- Towing in Prague — about **4,000 CZK** + 200–400 CZK per day for storage.
