STK (stanice technické kontroly) is a Czech technical inspection for a car. Without a valid STK, a car is not allowed on the road.
How often
For a passenger car up to 3.5 tons:
- First inspection — 4 years after registering a new car.
- After that — every 2 years.
How much it costs
- 2,000–2,700 Kč in total.
- Of this, the STK itself costs 1,200–1,700 Kč, and the emissions measurement costs 800–900 Kč.
Why prices are different
🔑 STK prices are not regulated by the state. Each station sets its own rate, so the difference between neighboring STK stations can be noticeable — it really makes sense to call a few stations.
